‘Apply For New Voter Id Online’ Election commission of India offers online voter registration for Indian citizens who have attained the age of 18 on the qualifying date (1st of January of the year of revision of electoral roll). Citizen, can enroll himself/herself as General Voter and fill Form online at Voter Portal of ECI. Registered voters should also check their enrollment status.

Eligibility Criteria to Apply For New Voter ID Online:
You can enroll as a Voter in India if you:
- An Indian citizen who has attained the age of 18 years or more on the first day of January of the year with reference to which the electoral roll is being revised will be considered eligible.
- Are ordinarily resident of the part/polling area of the constituency where you want to be enrolled.
- Are not disqualified to be enrolled as an elector.
- Enrollment only at an ordinary place of residence.
- The name should not be present in the electoral roll anywhere.
- An Overseas Indian who has been at the passport address as an ordinary resident.
- Service Voters deemed to be ordinarily resident at their home address.
Supporting Documents to Apply For New Voter Id Online:
a) One recent scanned passport size coloured photograph with White background.
b) Proof Of Address(PoA), Any of the following documents bearing the address mentioned in the application, can submit any proof of residence as listed below:
- Aadhaar Card
- Bank/Kisan/Post Office current Passbook
- Ration Card
- Driving License
- Indian Passport
- Income Tax Return filed/Assessment Order
- Registered sale deed (In case of Own house)
- Latest Rental Agreement
- Latest water/ Telephone/ Electricity/ Gas Connection Bill
- Postal department’s posts received/delivered in the applicant’s name at given address

c) Any Govt id or Govt approved document which is validating to your age or Date of Birth can be considered as proof of age or date of birth. You can submit any proof of residence as listed below:-
- Aadhaar Card
- PAN Card
- Driving License
- Indian Passport
- Marksheet of Class X/Class VIII/Class V, if it contains Date of Birth
- Birth Certificate from the school/other educational institution (Govt./Recognized), last attended
- Birth Certificate issued by a Municipal Authorities
- Registrar of Births & Deaths
- Baptism certificate

Application Fee:
a) Its a free service provided by Election Commission of India.
Here is how you can Apply For New Voter Id Online Step-by-step guide:
Step 1: “To Apply For New Voter ID Online”, Click On Apply Online Link Below. or Go to Voter Portal Election Commission of India.
Step 2: If you have already an Account in Voter Portal then Enter Registered Mobile Number or Email Id and Password and click on Login.
- If you don’t have an Account, click on Create an Account. (For Register as New User)
- Enter Mobile Number or Email Id.
- Click on Continue.
- If you Enter a Mobile Number, One Time Password(OTP) will be sent to the above Entered Mobile Number.
- Enter OTP and click on Verify. If you Enter an Email Id, a link will be sent to your email id for email verification, click on Link to verify.
- After Verification of Mobile Number or Email Id, you have to set a password.
- Complete the profile by filing the Name, State, and Gender.
- Now, Your Account has been created and you are logged In.
Step 3: After Login, Click on the New Voter Registration, a welcome page will open, and click on Let’s Start.
Step 4: Select Yes, I am applying for the first time and click on ‘Save and Continue’.
Step 5: Now Select citizenship Yes, I am an Indian Citizen (Residing in India).
Step 6: Now Select State/District/AC from which you wish to apply for Voter ID Online.
Step 7: Now you have to enter details of your Date of Birth and Upload your relevant document for Date of Birth proof and click on ‘Save and Continue’.
Step 8: Enter your personal details and upload your Picture and Select Disability(if any) and click on ‘Save and Continue’.
Step 9: Enter your family member details, if any of your family members have an EPIC number also write it and click on ‘Save and Continue’.
Step 10: Now Enter your Current Address and upload the relevant document for the Address proof and click on ‘Save and Continue’.
Step 11: Enter the year and month since you are staying at your current address and Enter the name of the applicant and place for the General Declaration and click on the ‘Save and Continue’.
Step 12: On the next page, you will see the form in digital format, confirm your details, and click on ‘Submit’.
Step 13: Now your Application submitted successfully. A reference id is generated and keep it to Track Application Status.
